Special effects 1

You can use this in a scary film to have a stronger effect of fear. To get this effect you need to import a video clip onto the project panel. Then you need to edit the clip to your desired length in the source panel. Then you drag the video clip onto the timeline. After you need to open the folder called Video Effects under the “Effects”. Then you open the folder “Stylize” and you go down to the Threshold effect and drag it onto the clip you want to add the effect for on the timeline. To edit the effect you go on the Effect Controls tab in the source panel and expand the threshold folder. Then you click on toggle animation and you add key frames to edit it however you want.

Suggestions

• One edit we would change was the the number of cuts made. We thought the out point was set to late. We noticed when the video starts it is a straight cut. We would have used a cross disovle because it would give a better effect. - Jacob D and Morgan D
• You could also add a clip that shows a calendar in his home that says TEST on (what ever day) and him rushing out of the house. he doesn’t look at the calendar to see what he has.- Taylor and Jose

The positive comments that were most meaningful to us were from Isaiah and Cesar. They told us that they liked the shot of Kenny because it helped emphasize the idea that he’s unprepared and, and that was helpful because it showed us that what we were trying to show in that shot was understandable by the audience. Another positive comment was from Taylor and Jose. They told us that they liked the shots of the extreme close-up of Kenny’s eyes because it helped emphasize the idea that he was nervous and that it created suspense, and that was helpful because it also showed us that the audience actually got what we were trying to show in that shot.
One of the best suggestions we got were from Michelle and Blanca
They suggested that we add a title of the exact point to add to the resolution. We agree with this suggestion, and our plan to address it is to try it out and see how it looks in our video.

They suggested that we can add to the resolution by showing the grade that the main character got and that this would help give us the idea that he did badly on the test for not studying. We agree with this suggestion, and our plan to address it is to think about if have time to record another scene to try out the suggestion.

Priorities rough draft

The values that we are trying to represent is priorities.
What I think my group has done well was the editing the videos sound
effects and music to fit the video.
We still need to film and then the new video into our video that's already in Premiere Pro.
We want to know if our shots fit well together in the video and if the music fits the shot.
A challenge that our group discovered was filming our actual script can be difficult if some of the recording takes place at another persons home outside of school. We are planning to modify since we did not record outside of school. We had a discussion on what the actors were going to say and what they were going to do. We have made a couple of scenarios that can replace the part that takes place outside of school. We are planning to take out the whole home part of the script and maybe change it so that it takes place in school and not outside of school.

OTS Project

Our group planned the shots keeping in mind the rule of thirds and to not resord towards the sun. We also tried to pick a spot were their would be less interuptions and noise form the other groups. Planning on how the shots are going to be taken need to be planned before you start shooting so you don't mess up by making up the shots on the spot and so you don't run out of recording time.
We did try to follow the rule of thirds because it gives us more control of what we want the audience to look at so they better understand what is going on in the shot and so they wont be distracted by other things in the shot that are less important.
The over the shoulder shots give the impression that the people are having a conversation or what the person might be looking at kind of like an POV shot. It works by having a camera shot over the shoulder of one person looking at another person.
The dialogue seems realistic in the final edit. The only challenge we had in the final edit were cutting the clip into smaller clips to get the conversation.
There is a dominant tone in our video. The dominant tone in our video is boring. We accomplished this by not showing any emotion in our video.
Another observation that I have about using over the shoulder shots is that it helps the audience place the character in their setting.
Others ideas that are emphasized to make effective videos are that having backround noice can sometimes be good in a shot and that facing the camera toward the sun is not good.
