Green Screen Workshop

Important considerations in filming with a green screen are shadows need to be removed by adding lights, wrinkles in green screen, and to not wear green clothing while working with a green screen.

Seasons Greetings Project

What I feel my partner and I did a good job on was the music we chose and how we set the in and out points that were just right and didn't cut off any of the words. Seeing the other videos I would have dont the falling text from John and Ryan's video. I liked it because it looked interesting and didnt't lose the audience's attantion. What I did specifically to create my group's video was choosing the music and putting the musice into our video. I helped my partner with the editing and some of the green screen work in Adobe After effects. My partner helped me by cutting the video clips and putting them into the timeline. What I would have donr differently if i had another chance is the music. I would have chosen better music that was related to the holidays we were describing.

5 Things I learned

What I learned in this video was that showing an example of cyberbullying at the beginning of the video can be a strong hook.

Final Draft Cyberbullying Video

The part of the video I am most satisfied with is the part where Mr Vela is talking about the consequences of cyberbullying and then it cuts to a clip of Mr Vela taking a student to the office. The most helpful comment we got that helped us create our final draft was that we should try to add the words stop , block, and tell in the scene towards the end where a student is walking in the hallway. The only changes we made in the final draft were the audio levels and we added the words stop, block, and tell to the hallway scene. Other changes we would have made if we had another day are making an echo effect after Mr Vela says the word "safe" towards the end of the interview. If we had the chance to do the video all over again we would add more facts. I discovered that getting feedback on your video is helpful on seeing the things that you missed.

Five Things I learned

Around 0:30 I really liked how the title has a question and then Mr.Caffiro answered the question and learned that their idea on doing that can be really effective.Another thing that when Jake asks on what website cyberbullying happens on the most and the stundents answer "faebook" I learned that it was effective on getting their message across. I also learned that the music they chose around 1:33 was effective on keeping the audience's attention. Around 0:24 I learned that the scene of the students walking and talking showed that cyerullying happens to teens and takes place at a school. One other thing I learned was that the interviews of the students showed a variety of point of views on cyberbullying and was good at showing that it can happen to anyone.

Cyberbullying Rough Draft

I believe that the video came out good. Everything came out as we wanted it to look like and the clips all fit together well. The only edits I think we need to make are to change the color of the titles so they can be easier to read and to adjust the volume levels. The audience had a good response to our video and we are taking their suggestions into consideration.

This is an example of an lower thirds title, which means having a clip on the lower third of the screen. You might use this kind of title to label a location or to show a persons name.

This is an example of an fullscreen title, which means having a full title on the whole screen . You might use this kind of title at the beginning of a clip or as a transition between two clips.

This is an example of an template title, which means having a title bar on the lower third of the screen. You might use this kind of title when showing an interview clip. To do this you click on Title then on New title

A simple cut in the timeline means deleting a clip off the timeline while leaving a gap where the clip was deleted. When you cut, the other clips in the timeline have a gap in between.
A ripple edit is when a clip is deletied and there is no gap left where the clip was deleted. You do this by right clicking the clip and selecting "Ripple Delete". When you ripple delete, the other clips to the right of the deleted clip move to fill the gap.
Lifting and extracting are two ways to delete a clip at one time. To do this, you set the in and out points on the timeline and click on the lift button on the program panel.
Lifting is like deleting a clip and leaving a gap on the timeline between the clips, while extracting is like filling the gap, in terms of what happens to the other clips in the timeline.
This is an example of an lifting and extracting edit. I decided to edit the two clips where I did because thats where the original clip was.

This is an example of an overlay edit. An overlay edit places a clip top of the existing clip. To do this, you drag the clip onto the tmeline and the drag the clip over the other clip and place it there. I decided to place the 2nd clip where I did because It was where it had the best effect.

This is an example of an inserty edit. An insert edit places a clip top of the existing clip while holding Ctrl. To do this, you drag the clip onto the tmeline and the drag the clip over the other clip while holding Ctrl and place it there. I decided to place the 2nd clip where I did because It it had the best effect.
The difference between an overlay and an insert edit is that in an overlay the video does not split the video in two.
You would use an overlay when you want to show that time is continuous, while you’d use an insert edit when you want to show different scences that are happening at the same time without time being continuous. In this case the ovelay edit works better because having a more realistic time gives the video a better effect and looks much better.

SBHS Student Interviews

I think I'm getting better at using Premiere Pro. I did a good job of picking a title for my project. I'm happy with the way I put the clips together. On my next project, I would like to learn how to add video effects to a clip. If I could do this project over , I would re-edit it with a better ending for the video. On this project I gained a better idea about how to import files into Premiere faster. Mr. Achterman helped me figure out how to import the clips faster and easier into Premiere

Filming and Capturing

Today I learned how to capture video from the video camera and how to save it into the server. I worked on how to take better video and on being in front of a camara.
